We locate or install solid backing — a stud, a noggin or a plywood pattress behind the board — fix into it with fixings suited to that backing, and seal the flange so water cannot track behind the wall. Before we leave we check each rail is secure in use, and we are happy to demonstrate that with you.

If a council grant is involved, we can provide the quotation in the format your council asks for. VAT depends on your circumstances and we confirm the applicable rate in the quotation.

Can you fit just a grab rail, or do I need a full bathroom job?▾
Just a rail is fine. Small safety works are quoted as their own job after the survey. If we think you would be better served by a handyman or by a council-supplied fitting, we will say so.
Can grab rails be fitted onto tiles?▾
Through tiles, yes — into whatever is behind them, which is the important bit. The rail must reach a stud, a noggin or purpose-installed backing, and the fixing must be sealed so water cannot track behind the tile.
Will the bathroom look institutional afterwards?▾

Yes, and that is usually the sensible time to do it — the walls are already open, so backing, rails and the seat can be positioned exactly and finished in with the tiling.
