Grab Rails, Shower Seats & Anti-Slip Flooring in Livingston
Free home survey · Written quotation, no obligation
Not every bathroom needs stripping out. Where the layout already works, the difference between a room someone dreads and a room they can use safely is often a correctly positioned rail, a seat that takes their weight and a floor that does not turn slippery when wet. We fit these as a standalone job as well as part of a full adaptation.
Why Livingston households choose this
Livingston's mix of 1970s town-centre housing, Craigshill and Howden flats, and newer Deans and Murieston builds means bathroom layouts vary a great deal. Tight family bathrooms in particular benefit from a level-access shower swap that opens up the whole room.

Funding through West Lothian Council
Grant help is administered under Scotland's Scheme of Assistance. Eligibility, the level of any grant and the process vary by tenure and circumstances, and an assessment of need is generally involved — confirm the current rules with the council.

Frequently asked questions — Livingston
How much does grab rails, shower seats & anti-slip flooring cost in Livingston?▾
The cost depends on your existing bathroom, the tray or layout chosen and any tiling work. We'll give you a fixed written price after the free home survey — no surprises later.
Do you cover Livingston?▾

Can West Lothian Council fund my installation?▾
Possibly. West Lothian help with adaptations through the Scheme of Assistance, and support normally follows an assessment of need — usually by an occupational therapist. Eligibility, the level of any grant and the process vary by council and by whether you own or rent, so check the position with them. Where a grant is involved we provide quotes in the format the council asks for, and you can also arrange the work with us privately instead.
Can you fit just a grab rail, or do I need a full bathroom job?▾
Just a rail is fine. Small safety works are quoted as their own job after the survey. If we think you would be better served by a handyman or by a council-supplied fitting, we will say so.
Can grab rails be fitted onto tiles?▾
Through tiles, yes — into whatever is behind them, which is the important bit. The rail must reach a stud, a noggin or purpose-installed backing, and the fixing must be sealed so water cannot track behind the tile.
