Bath to Shower Conversion

From £2,899 fully fitted

A bath to shower conversion is the fastest way to make a bathroom safer. We remove the bath, re-use the existing plumbing where we can, and fit a low-step or level-access shower in its place — usually in three to five working days.

Why most households start here

Climbing in and out of a bath is the single biggest cause of bathroom falls in older people. Conversion to a walk-in or level-access shower removes that risk in a few days — without the cost or disruption of a full wet room.

Because the bath was already plumbed for water in and out, the supply and waste are usually right where we need them. That keeps the price down and the dust to a minimum.

What changes — and what doesn't

We strip out the bath, the surrounding panel and the tile splashback. In goes a new tray, a screen or door, the shower itself, grab rails, and slip-resistant flooring extended a little beyond the wet area. The toilet, basin, storage and rest of the décor stay exactly as they are unless you ask us to refresh them.

If you'd like to update the basin or refresh the tiles at the same time, we'll quote it as an option — never bundled in by default.

Funding and VAT relief

Where the conversion is being done on disability or long-term illness grounds, the work qualifies for VAT zero-rating — we handle the form so you don't pay it. If your local council is funding the work through the Scheme of Assistance, we'll quote in the council's preferred format.

Frequently asked questions

How long will I be without a working bathroom?

Usually two days. We sequence the work so the toilet is back in service overnight on day one wherever possible.

Can the existing pipework be reused?

In around 90% of conversions, yes. We'll confirm at the survey before quoting.

Will I need to retile the whole room?

No — we only retile the immediate splashback area unless you ask for a fuller refresh.

Is the conversion suitable for a wheelchair user?

A standard bath-to-shower conversion gives easy access for most people, but if a wheelchair or hoist transfer is involved a level access shower or wet room is usually the right call. We'll advise honestly at the survey.
