Disabled Bathroom Adaptations in Coatbridge
Free home survey · Written quotation, no obligation
We design and fit bathroom adaptations for disabled and elderly users across Central Scotland — from a single grab rail or raised toilet, to a full wet room. Most jobs we take on are recommended by an occupational therapist and funded, in part or in full, by the local council.
Why Coatbridge households choose this
Coatbridge is inside our core Lanarkshire service area and a straightforward run from Hamilton. Much of the town — Whifflet, Townhead, Old Monkland, Kirkshaws — is older terraced and ex-council housing where the bathroom is upstairs, narrow, and built around a full-size bath. That combination is the single most common reason people call us: the bath has become the barrier, and a bath-to-shower conversion using the existing waste run is usually the least disruptive fix. Where a ground-floor bathroom or a rear extension exists, a level-access shower or wet room is often possible instead. Coatbridge comes under North Lanarkshire Council for grant-funded adaptations, and we quote in the format their team asks for.

Funding through North Lanarkshire Council
Grant help is administered under Scotland's Scheme of Assistance. Eligibility, the level of any grant and the process vary by tenure and circumstances — confirm the current rules with the council.

Frequently asked questions — Coatbridge
How much does disabled bathroom adaptations cost in Coatbridge?▾
The cost depends on your existing bathroom, the tray or layout chosen and any tiling work. We'll give you a fixed written price after the free home survey — no surprises later.

Can North Lanarkshire Council fund my installation?▾
Possibly. North Lanarkshire help with adaptations through the Scheme of Assistance, and support normally follows an assessment of need — usually by an occupational therapist. Eligibility, the level of any grant and the process vary by council and by whether you own or rent, so check the position with them. Where a grant is involved we provide quotes in the format the council asks for, and you can also arrange the work with us privately instead.
Do I need an occupational therapist referral?▾
No — you can self-fund the work, or use it to top up a council grant if one is awarded. If you do have an OT recommendation we'll quote against it; if you don't, we'll advise based on the home survey.
How much will the council pay?▾
It varies. Eligibility, the level of grant and the process differ by council and by tenure, and an assessment of need is generally involved. South Lanarkshire Council currently states that eligible disabled adaptations follow an occupational therapy assessment and that mandatory grant is normally 80%, with 100% in some cases; other councils set this out differently, so check your own council's scheme.
